Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka was born in Belarus in Minsk. Sergey Sabalenka (d. 2019) is her hockey-playing father. Aryna Sabalenka was born Minsk, Belarus on May 5th, 1998. In her career she has had 12 WTA singles titles including the Grand Slam at the 2023 Australian Open. Doubles is another sport where she shines. In the US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021, US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both played by Elise Mertens. With her fellow Belgian tennis star, she also took home an award called the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells and Miami in 2019 thus making an appearance in the Sunshine Double. Only four couples were able to make it happen in women's doubles. On 23 August 2021 she climbed to the second spot in the singles world ranking her top ranking again in January 2023. The Belarusian rose into the top spot of the doubles ranking the next year after winning the doubles title in Melbourne. She became the only Belarusian tennis player to achieve success in the field. She was trained by an ex- Russian tennis player Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the conclusion of the 2019 season, and in part at the beginning of 2020. Dieter Kindlmann was her trainer from the month of August until September 2020. Antonio Dubrov is her coach who has been with her since the start of 2020. Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are her greatest idols.
